• As we continue our learning journey this year, I'd like to share our current homework assignments that will help support your child's development.

    Reading Together

    Daily Reading:
Please set aside time each night to read with your child. This is a wonderful opportunity to bond and foster a love for books!

    Discussion Points:

    • Story Elements: After reading, ask your child questions about the story elements, such as:
      • Who are the main characters?
      • What is the setting?
      • What is the problem in the story?
      • How is the problem resolved?

    Writing Practice

    Letters and Numbers:
Encourage your child to practice writing both letters and numbers. This can be done through fun activities such as:

    • Tracing letters in sand or with finger paint.
    • Writing numbers while counting objects around the house.

    Phonemic Awareness Activities

    Rhyme and Alliteration:
Help your child recognize and create rhymes and alliteration through playful activities:

    • Rhyme Time: Sing songs or read poems that incorporate rhymes. Ask your child to find words that rhyme with a word you choose.
    • Alliteration Fun: Create silly sentences using words that start with the same sound. For example, "Silly Sam swiftly swims."

    Identifying Syllables:
Practice breaking words into syllables with these activities:

    • Clap It Out: Clap your hands for each syllable in a word. For example, "banana" has three claps: ba-na-na.
    • Syllable Sorting: Gather objects or pictures and sort them based on the number of syllables they contain.

Thank you for your continued support in your child's education. Together, we can make learning a joyful experience!
