Grading Policy

• Participation in the concerts and marching band performances for each marking period is included in the calculation of the marking period grade point average. The performance constitutes a significant portion of the marking period grade, as they are the outcome goal of Wind Ensemble and Wind Ensemble Honors

• Participation in evening marching band rehearsals and after-school dress rehearsals for each appropriate marking period are required. [GROUP HOMEWORK]

• If a student misses a dress rehearsal or performance due to illness [with a doctor’s note], observance of a religious holiday, major family life cycle event, death in the family, the teacher may assign a make-up project or alternative assessment.

• The teacher may designate extra credit opportunities for additional performances or activities.

• Students are required to learn the CJMEA and ALL SHORE Symphonic Band Audition Requirements. Students will be required to submit periodic recordings of the CJMEA and ALL SHORE BAND requirements for evaluation and teacher feedback.[Portfolio

  Assessment].

• Students who are enrolled in HONORS WIND ENSEMBLE are required to participate in the CJMEA and ALL SHORE BAND AUDITIONS.

Begin preparation of the CJMEA / All Shore Solo & Scale requirements for the 2024-25 school year

Summer Marching Band Camp August 26, 27, 28, 29, 30  at WHS 8:00am-3:00pm

Supplies needed - #2 pencils for each class

Metronome or Metronome APP

Chromatic Tuner or Tuner APP

Folding Portable Music Stand
