GRADING POLICY

Grading Policy

• Participation in the concerts and marching band performances for each marking period is included in the calculation of the marking period grade point average. The performance constitutes a significant portion of the marking period grade, as they are the outcome goal of Band.

• Participation in evening marching band rehearsals and after-school dress rehearsals for each appropriate marking period are required. [GROUP HOMEWORK]

• If a student misses a dress rehearsal or performance due to illness [with a doctor’s note], observance of a religious holiday, major family life cycle event, death in the family, the teacher may assign a make-up project or alternative assessment.

• The teacher may designate extra credit opportunities for additional performances or activities.
